Position A – Account Executive, Maritime Sector, Northeast

POSITION OVERVIEW:

Great White Fleet is looking for a motivated and strategic Ocean Freight Account Executive to grow our presence across the Northeast United States. In this role, you’ll take the helm of our regional commercial efforts — developing customer relationships, uncovering new business opportunities, and helping shape the future of ocean transportation for a trusted name in the maritime industry.

You’ll work closely with our Director and cross-functional teams to execute our Liner sales strategy, expanding market share, revenue, and cargo volume within your territory. This is a high-impact, people-focused role where your ideas and energy will directly influence results.

The ideal candidate is an entrepreneurial self-starter who thrives on building connections, solving challenges, and driving results. A background in container shipping or logistics sales is preferred, along with strong communication skills, business savvy, and a passion for collaboration.

This is a remote position, ideally based in New York, New Jersey, Connecticut, or Pennsylvania, with flexibility for other Northeast locations 

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Discover and grow new opportunitiesby combining market insights, networking, and strategic planning to expand Great White Fleet’s presence and impact in the region.
  • Build lasting relationshipswith prospective and existing customers — understanding their goals, anticipating their needs, and developing solutions that strengthen long-term partnerships.
  • Drive results by meeting and exceeding sales targets while contributing to the company’s broader mission of delivering reliable, sustainable ocean freight solutions.
  • Collaborate across teamsto ensure an exceptional customer experience and support key accounts with proactive problem-solving.
  • Analyze and share insightsthrough regular market performance reports that highlight trends, opportunities, and lessons learned.
  • Stay ahead of the curveby continuously learning about market dynamics, customer challenges, and innovations shaping the maritime industry.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

  • Education & experience:Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Finance, Supply Chain, or a related field — or equivalent experience that demonstrates strong business and communication skills.
  • Industry knowledge:5+ years of experience in the maritime, logistics, or container shipping industry (experience in ocean or intermodal transportation a major plus) preferred.
  • Analytical mindset:Strong problem-solving and data-driven decision-making skills — you know how to turn insights into action.
  • People & communication skills:Excellent communicator, negotiator, and relationship-builder — someone who connects easily with customers and colleagues.
  • Self-starter spirit:Independent, organized, and adaptable, with the curiosity to learn and the drive to make an impact.
  • Flexibility:Willingness to travel up to 25% to meet customers, attend industry events, and strengthen relationships in person

PHYSICAL ENVIRONMENT:
