My name is Daniel Abbamonte, and I am seeking opportunities in the New York–Connecticut area in shipbroking, chartering, vessel operations, or related commercial shipping roles.

I recently completed a one-year training contract with Clarksons through its Global Broker Trainee Program, with rotations in Dry Bulk and Specialised Products. During my time on the New York Dry Bulk desk, I gained hands-on experience across the Handy/Supramax market, including voyage calculations, tonnage searches, freight and market analysis, cargo circulation, fixture support, and post-fixture operations. I also spent six months with the Specialised Products team in Connecticut, where I developed experience with chemical tanker operations, vessel and cargo compatibility, tank coatings, previous-cargo restrictions, stowage considerations, and market analysis.

Prior to Clarksons, I sailed as a deck officer with the U.S. Military Sealift Command and Patriot Contract Services, holding a USCG 2nd Mate Unlimited license, and gained extensive experience in vessel operations, voyage planning, cargo operations, and coordination with military, government, and commercial stakeholders. My combination of seagoing and shoreside commercial experience gives me a strong understanding of both sides of the ship-to-shore relationship.

I hold the ASBA Basic Principles of Chartering certification and am particularly interested in opportunities where I can continue developing on the commercial side of shipping while applying my operational background. I am open to both dry bulk and tanker opportunities, willing to relocate, and available to start immediately.
