My name is Vishal Kumar, and I am seeking opportunities in the NY–NJ–CT area. I am available to join on a short notice and have over 15 years of experience in the maritime industry, including 7 years at sea as a Second Mate with Wilhelmsen Ship Management on tanker vessels.

I am currently working with MSC as a Vessel Planning Manager. Previously, I worked with Maersk, Cargill, and TORM Shipping, handling vessel operations, port planning, demurrage, and post-fixture. Through these roles, I have built relationships with chartering managers that I can leverage to help generate business. My combined sea and shore experience gives me a strong understanding of both technical and commercial shipping. I am hard working, love building relations and a strong Team player.

I have completed my Master’s in Business and am currently pursuing the Institute of Chartered Shipbrokers (ICS) PQE (expected 2026). I am now looking to move into the commercial side in roles such as Trainee Ship Broker, Trainee Chartering, or Vessel Operations. I am open to both bulk and tanker companies, willing to relocate, and ready to start immediately.
